No rain!

Brief post today:

Yes, we felt the earthquake on Friday. It was located in Seddon, about 500 kilometers away from us. Seddon is fairly close to Wellington, which is why Wellington's been in the news. It lasted a long time and felt more like an earth-vertigo than quake. The boys didn't feel it at all. Aidan was doing Jump Jam with his class. See below for a video of Jump Jam and it will quickly become clear why Aidan might have missed the movement of tectonic plates beneath him:

Yes, it's compulsory.

Jasper can't remember what he was doing, but he knows for sure that nobody was under their desks. He would have remembered that.

Yesterday Aidan and I took a bike ride/run around the lake in the rain. It was awesome. We saw a rainbow and explored a few little spits of land that were predominantly inhabited by birds we didn't recognize.

Today I woke up and saw blue sky!! I was so excited I took some photos of our lake on my morning run.

There's still snow on the mountain

I've never lived in a tourist town before. Here are all the empty motels at the lake front, signifying low season.

Spring has sprung!

Getting ready to say goodbye to our house

The boys will miss the "bamboo forest" in the backyard.

I think they're hoping to build a raft... good thing we're moving.
